Road to London, by Barbara Mitchelhill

By on March 26, 2012

Road to London is a magnificent book, about a boy called Thomas Munmore, who dreams of becoming a famous actor for none other then Shakespeare himself!

Set in Elizabethan London, Thomas finds himself in dangerous situations, with cruel people and terrifying plots…

Much to his delight, Thomas soon finds himself as one of the actors for Shakespeare; his dream has started to come true. With fun, drama and a whole host of plays to perform, this is Thomas’s idea heaven

Thomas and his friend Alice suddenly get caught up in a plan to poison and kill the Queen!

What should they do? Will they be able to warn the Queen in time?

I liked the book because it was full of plots treason and drama. The best part of the story was when Thomas went to the hotel, because strange things happened there.

I would recommend this book to 8-13 year olds who love a book full of plots and drama!

My star rating out of 5 is 5 because it was an excellent book and you will want to read more.
